Hamilton’s Student Fellowships Coordinator will work with you to identify and apply for nationally and internationally competitive opportunities.
International Summer Research Funding
This new program is designed to support second- and third-year Hamilton students who wish to conduct summer research outside the United States in locations such as universities, government agencies, museums, archives, art galleries, archaeological and historical sites, research libraries, laboratories, and field sites.

Joanna “Anna” Zhang ’20 has been awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to Taiwan. The opportunity is the next step in her plans to ultimately pursue a career in nonprofit work advocating for children.

Inspired by his surgeon grandfather and his father’s recovery from cancer, Ishan Bhatia ’20 will conduct cancer research in India at Tata Memorial Center in Mumbai after graduation.

Thanks to a Fulbright Teaching Assistantship, Mary Beringause ’20 has the opportunity to return to Argentina, where she studied and taught English in 2018.

At Hamilton, Niamh Fitzpatrick ’20, an economics major and computer science minor, taught English to local Vietnamese, Thai, and Cambodian refugees.

Five Hamilton juniors have been awarded Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships for study abroad during the spring 2020 semester. Recipients are Erin Bryant, Diamond Jackson, Savannah Kelly, Lynn Kim, and Maya Taliaferro.

Meredith Jones ’19 and Jasmine Murray ’19 received the FAO Schwarz Fellowship, a highly selective paid two-year Fellowship in Social Impact. The Fellowship includes a paid position with a leading nonprofit, personalized mentoring, and extensive professional development experiences.

Madeline Carlman ’19 has been awarded the college’s Bristol Fellowship for her project “Creating Community in Book Places.” She’ll examine how book places such as libraries, book shops, book clubs, and book fairs work to create community.

Samantha D'Angelo ’21 has been awarded a Coccia Foundation Scholarship for study in Italy. She is a physics major and Italian and history minor who plans to pursue her passions for Italian language and culture by studying in Taormina, Sicily, through the API Babilonia Institute Program.

Catherine Ryczek '21 has been named a Barry M. Goldwater Scholar for the 2019-20 academic year. She is among 496 undergraduate sophomores and juniors from across the U.S. to receive the Goldwater, the premier national undergraduate award in the fields of mathematics, the natural sciences and engineering.

Alexandra (Allie) Gale ’19 has been awarded a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to Brazil. A world politics major with a focus in Latin America, Gale was a Rotary Youth Exchange student in Joao Pinheiro, in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, in 2014-15.
