After spending eight years in the fashion industry, Kate Flynn '08 recently switched careers and is now a User Experience (UX) Designer. Most recently, Kate was doing UX design for The New York Times.

Several major news outlets, including The New York Times, CNN and The Wall Street Journal, have reported that Mike Dubke ’92 will be named White House communications director.

Kate Childs ’08 was just hired by the Creative Artists Agency (CAA) for a new position in the books department to create live events for client book releases.

Queen of Shadows, the fourth book in the Throne of Glass series by Sarah Maas ’08, is being released on Tuesday, Sept. 1. Maas was a creative writing major at Hamilton.

The momentum of the 4th annual Levitt Leadership Institute continued off-campus in Washington, D.C., the week of March 16. Led again by Former Ambassador Prudence Bushnell and Christine Powers, and later joined by Director of Hamilton’s Education Studies Program Susan Mason, the group applied leadership lessons learned in the first week in January, and viewed leadership-in-action in our nation’s capital.

Allan L. Guiney ’08 recently appeared on ABC’s NY Med, a television show about the realities of the fast-paced and unpredictable life of New York City Doctors.

Students in the Hamilton College Program in Washington, D.C. attended an informative media panel hosted by George Baker ’74 and Frank Vlossak ’89 of the Williams and Jensen law firm on Oct. 30. The panel included Hamilton D.C. area alumni who work in the fast-paced field of D.C. media and journalism.

This August, Eliza Howe ’13, Rob Toste ’08 and Michael Evans ’05 will be traveling to Havana, Cuba, to participate in service work through Full Court Peace.

Three Hamilton alumni were selected to the top leadership positions with the New York Law School Law Review for the 2013-14 academic year.  William Bartholomew '08 and Helen Quigley '10 have been named editor-in-chief and managing editor, respectively, and William Lemon '08 was selected to serve as an executive editor.  Bartholomew, Lemon, and Quigley will receive their juris doctorates in 2014.  Both Bartholomew and Quigley graduated from Hamilton with degrees in world politics, while Lemon majored in philosophy and religious studies.

Professor of Music Samuel Pellman attended the 2012 International Workshop on Computer Music and Audio Technology at the National Chiao Tung University in Hsinchu, Taiwan. His composition “NGC 6357,” with video by Miranda Raimondi ’08, was featured in the opening concert on Nov. 30.
