  • While the weekend of September 7 may have been an ordinary one for most people, it was anything but for the Marathon Canoe Racing Team. The team of 19 paddlers, led by captains Gus Huiskamp ‘21 and Roger Danilek ‘21, competed in the Adirondack Canoe Classic alongside Director of Outdoor Leadership Andrew Jillings. The race customarily begins in Old Forge on the Friday after Labor Day and snakes its way through a series of lakes and rivers supplemented by portages over the course of three days before ending in Saranac Lake.

  • WHCL is a 24-hour, non-profit, student-run, free-form radio station. Established in 1941 and located on the Hamilton campus, WHCL provides the Hamilton community with the opportunity to get their voices and music heard. WHCL typically features over 90 shows during the school year and occasionally broadcasts in the summer.

  • Jon Gerstein ’21 plans to go into politics after college and may have just gotten a head start on that career. Gerstein was elected president of the College Democrats of NY (CDNY) at the organization’s annual convention in April.

  • Start. Stop. Continue. On each of the circular tables were two large posters and post-it notes in three colors. Last year’s Town Hall had been an opportunity for students to voice their concerns. This year, Student Assembly (SA) decided it had to do more. On April 29, SA hosted Town Hall 2.0 – this time, not in the Chapel, but in the Annex, with two microphones set up among the tables. Each table held two posters, and each poster (labeled with one of the two main topics) was organized into three categories: start, stop, and continue.

  • Hamilton’s Model UN team has attended three conferences this semester and has won awards at each. The team went to North American Model United Nations Conference hosted by University of Toronto (NAMUN), Princeton Diplomatic Invitational hosted by Princeton University (PDI), and &MUN hosted by The College of William and Mary.

  • On April 6, 120 student-athletes volunteered at 18 different community partners in Clinton, Rome, Utica, and Sauquoit as part of the 2nd Annual SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee)//COOP (Community Outreach and Opportunity Project) Day of Service. The initiative was part of the larger NCAA Division III Week of Service in which groups volunteered at local community partners, including the Thea Bowman House in Utica, and Special Olympics in Rome.

  • Members of the cultural organization La Vanguardia joined students and young professionals from various different colleges across the country for a conference from March 8 - 10 to highlight the amazing work being done by Dominicans in the United States. The event, hosted at Columbia University in New York City, served as a celebration of the Dominican identity.
