  • On Dec. 15, students from the Hamilton College Junior in France (HCJYF) program visited several covered passages, or arcades, in the heart of Paris.

  • Daniel O’Kelly’s article titled “4 study abroad hurdles” appeared on the USA Today College site on Aug. 6. O’Kelly ’14 is interning this summer with the Study Abroad Team at Go Overseas and plans to study abroad in Paris this fall. In his article, O’Kelly addressed the fears and concerns that sometimes stop students from considering studying in another country.

  • On May 5-6, students in Hamilton’s Junior Year in France (JYF) program visited three cities in the east of France: Nancy, Metz and Strasbourg. The trip coincided with the second round of the French presidential elections which Socialist Francois Hollande won over UMP president-elect Nicolas Sarkozy.

  • Hamilton President Joan Hinde Stewart and Philip Stewart visited the Hamilton College Junior Year in France Program in Paris, France, on a mild spring evening on March 18. They shared their memories of study abroad in France with Resident Director Cheryl Morgan and students currently studying with the Hamilton program.

  • Members of the Hamilton College Junior Year in France group traveled to Provence on Nov. 13-15. The first stop of the weekend trip was the Roman aqueduct, the Pont du Gard, built between 38 and 52 A.D. Guided by Hamilton Junior Year in France art professor Laurent Lecomte, the students also visited the amphitheater, stadium and baths in Arles, the picturesque town known as well as the setting for a number of Van Gogh’s paintings.

  • Members of the Hamilton College Junior Year in France recently went to the Sonja Helle Ice Rink at Bercy Stadium in Paris to cheer on Kyle Roulston ’09, the newest member of the Paris hockey team, Les Français Volants. With the help of Norm Bazin, Hamilton’s men’s ice hockey coach, Roulston joined a team that travelled to Europe this past summer looking to place North Americans in the European hockey system. Offered a spot on a team in Bad Tolz, Germany, and in Paris, Roulston jumped at the chance to play in the French capital.
