As far back as middle school, Eleanor Wefing ’23 loved working with people who have developmental disabilities. One big reason she chose Hamilton was its off campus-study program at the New England Center for Children, which serves people with autism.

Of all the Hamilton programs interrupted by the pandemic, off-campus study was perhaps the most severely affected. However, this semester, students are once again pursuing academic interests far away from the Hill. To understand how Hamilton’s programs are readjusting, we asked Assistant Dean of Off-Campus Study Carolyn North and several students located around the world. Below are some of their thoughts.

Initiated this semester by the Residential Life Office, the RSA program includes two sophomores, one junior, and two seniors whose job is to be a friendly point of contact with students studying remotely, keep them engaged with the community on campus and off, and connect them to resources and events.
