Every November, the College community salutes the Hamilton College Emergency Medical Service (HCEMS). HCEMS is a New York State Emergency Medical Service agency that responds to medical emergencies on campus. The service is available to all community members of the College 24-hours- a-day, seven-days-a-week during the year when classes are in session. The program is made up of student volunteers who all are New York State certified EMTs.

Each fall, the Hamilton Adirondack Program showcases an important voice in and for the Adirondacks as the program’s plenary speaker. This year that speaker was Jerry Jenkins, an ecologist with the Wildlife Conservation Society and author of several books about the region, including The Adirondack Atlas, Climate Change in the Adirondacks, and his forthcoming Woody Plants of the Northern Forest: A Photographic Guide.

Colonel David S. Maxwell spoke about recent events in North Korea on Nov. 9 for the Fifth Annual General Josiah Bunting III Veterans Day Lecture. He addressed the Kim regime and how North Korea’s development of intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) informs global security.
