Every November, the College community salutes the Hamilton College Emergency Medical Service (HCEMS). HCEMS is a New York State Emergency Medical Service agency that responds to medical emergencies on campus. The service is available to all community members of the College 24-hours- a-day, seven-days-a-week during the year when classes are in session. The program is made up of student volunteers who all are New York State certified EMTs.

U.S. Representative Matt Cartwright ’83, P’15, returned to the Hill Sunday, Nov. 12, for a question and answer session moderated by Maynard-Knox Professor of Law Frank Anechiarico.

On Saturday, Nov. 11, the Days-Massolo Center, with Monk Rowe, “Doc” Woods, and The College Hill Singers, presented a variety of interpretations of “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot,” as part of a celebration of our collective journeys.

Assistant Professor of Economics Wei Zhan gave a research presentation titled “Does How We Measure Altruism Matter? Playing Both Roles in Dictator Games” at the 110th Annual Conference on Taxation in Philadelphia on Nov. 9.

Jeffrey Larson, resident designer and production manager for theatre, was the video designer for 17c, a production of Big Dance Theater. The show's New York premiere is Nov. 14th at BAM.

ESPN Deputy Content Editor Lauren Reynolds ’02 and Emmy Award-winning ESPN producer Bryan Jaroch’97 returned to the Hill on Nov. 9 to speak about their experiences as sports journalists.

Each fall, the Hamilton Adirondack Program showcases an important voice in and for the Adirondacks as the program’s plenary speaker. This year that speaker was Jerry Jenkins, an ecologist with the Wildlife Conservation Society and author of several books about the region, including The Adirondack Atlas, Climate Change in the Adirondacks, and his forthcoming Woody Plants of the Northern Forest: A Photographic Guide.

Colonel David S. Maxwell spoke about recent events in North Korea on Nov. 9 for the Fifth Annual General Josiah Bunting III Veterans Day Lecture. He addressed the Kim regime and how North Korea’s development of intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) informs global security.

Assistant Professor of Government Gbemende Johnson gave an invited research presentation on “Adjudicating Executive Privilege" at the University of Kansas on Nov. 7.

On Nov. 2, 21 senior art majors left the quiet of the Hill for New York City to engage in an invaluable experience, a three-day tour of working artist studios to learn more about a variety of art-making processes.
