Last weekend (Nov. 4-6) Hamilton Mock Trial debuted its two teams and six of seven new members at Haverford College’s “Black Squirrel Invitational.”

Although there are many opportunities for community outreach at Hamilton, a select group of students have chosen to go above and beyond by taking their service experience off the Hill and into their local communities.

Hamilton College has received an at-large bid to the 2017 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship. The 64-team field was announced on Monday, Nov. 6.

Earthrates, a National Science Foundation-sponsored Research Coordination Network has funded a workshop proposed by Assistant Professor of Geosciences Catherine Beck titled Drilling Deeper For Connections Between Environmental Change and Evolution to be held on campus in April 2018.

Professor of Art History Emeritus and Senior Lecturer in Art History Rand Carter was celebrated by some of his former students during Fallcoming/Family Weekend in October. Michael Shapiro ’71 and David Nathans ’72 worked with the Office of Alumni Relations to organize the event. Carter, who joined the Hamilton faculty in 1970, retired at the end of the 2016-17 academic year.

Ann Owen, the Henry Platt Bristol Professor of Economics, was interviewed by Marketplace Senior Reporter Nancy Marshall-Genzer for a segment titled “New Fed chair will be carrying out the board’s dual mandate” on the program’s Nov. 1 broadcast.

Hamilton’s two-year-old Coding Team, whose members represent a range of majors and interests, built apps and relationships at its first Hackathon, held at Boston University.

When Andy Berman ’06 and Kevin St. John ’06 first created Facebook accounts during their junior year at Hamilton College, they had no clue that they would be working for the social media company only a decade later. In fact, after graduating from Hamilton, Berman said that he had “no idea” what to do professionally. St. John, who eventually went to business school and developed an interest in startups, did not have a concrete job himself until he started working for Facebook in 2015.
