The Newman Council hosted its annual Trust Treat on Halloween for children from the Thea Bowman House in Utica. Named in memory of Eric Trust '92, this yearly celebration aims to give children a safe and fun Halloween experience.

Students in Professor of Economics Ann Owen's course in Monetary Policy won their bracket in the Fed Challenge in New York City on Friday, Oct. 28.

Hamilton's 10th annual Fall Fest took place on Oct. 30 on the village green in Clinton.  Tara Huggins '14, co-chair of Hamilton's Social Traditions committee with Sarah Kelley '12,  said "Over the course of the day we had a few hundred people come. The weather was amazing and that made it just a great day."

Frank Anechiarico ’71, Maynard-Knox Professor of Government and Law, addressed the Northeast Conference on Public Administration on “The Ethical Implication of Government Outsourcing” at the conference's annual meeting in New York City on Oct. 29.

Local families can experience the magic of Harry Potter at the 10th annual Hogwarts at Hamilton, taking place on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 4 and 5, at Benedict Hall, home to Hamilton's Religious Studies Department.

Environmentalist, climber, filmmaker and author Jonathan Waterman will present a lecture on his latest book, Running Dry: A Journey from Source to Sea Down the Colorado River, on Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the Kennedy Auditorium, Taylor Science Center.

The 10th Annual Hamilton College Fall Fest will take place on Sunday, Oct. 30, from noon to 4 p.m., on the Clinton Village Green. Fall Fest is an initiative that was started in 2002 by the Hamilton Class of 2005 to enhance town/gown relations by uniting the Hamilton and Clinton communities for an afternoon of food, fun and entertainment.

Visiting Assistant Professor of Religious Studies Abhishek Amar convened a panel and presented a paper at the 40th Annual Conference of South Asia on Oct. 23 at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

The F.I.L.M. (Forum on Image and Language in Motion) series will present Maya Deren’s Meshes of the Afternoon (1943, co-made with Alexander Hammid), At Land (1944) and Ritual in Transfigured Time (1946) on Sunday, Oct. 30, at 2 p.m. in the Bradford Auditorium, Kirner-Johnson Building.

Some 50 students from Clinton Central Schools joined forces with Hamilton College students to stage an evening of performance celebrating Hamilton’s bicentennial at the Clinton performing arts complex on Oct. 27.
