Hamilton College is expanding its portfolio of direct pathways for students from undergraduate to graduate study through partnerships with Harvard University, Duke University, and Vanderbilt University.

Hamilton College is creating more direct pathways from bachelor’s to master’s degrees by launching new graduate study partnerships with several of the world’s top research universities.

A new semester also brought new students to Hamilton. This year, the College welcomed 50 January admits, commonly referred to as “Jans.” The newest arrivals on the Hill are wildlife conservation advocates, history buffs, and dedicated members of their communities—both at home and abroad. November’s news topics included coverage of free speech, Democratic Socialism, and gambling, among others.

Associate Dean of Admission and Director of Diversity Recruitment Kaitlin Oliver was recently named to the Chicago Scholars College Partner Advisory Board (CPAB).

Shortly after welcoming in the new year, Hamilton also welcomed 45 new students to the Hill — the College’s class of January admits. Commonly referred to as “Jans,” these students begin their Hamilton residential careers during the spring semester after spending the fall off campus.

On a sunny day in mid-June, Vice President for Enrollment Management Monica Inzer had a packed schedule of meetings, calls, and interviews. That’s nothing new, and neither was having John McLaughlin, associate vice president and dean of admission, join her for many of them. What was different was that these were Inzer’s final days in Siuda House before retiring on June 30, and McLaughlin, who arrived on College Hill in January 2023, was preparing to succeed her in leading Hamilton’s enrollment management division.

Following a national search, Vice President for Enrollment Management John McLaughlin has announced that Jacob Browne has been named executive director of admission. Browne will join Hamilton on Oct. 1 from Eckerd College, where he serves as dean of admission.
