Julia Litzky ’12 doesn’t sleep much, and that annoys her. “I used to be able to run off three hours a night freshman year,” she said, “but now I have to get  five or six.” In between finalizing her acceptance to Dartmouth’s M.D./Ph.D. program, volunteering at the Writing Center and crafting her own metal jewelry, it’s surprising she had time to sleep at all as her time at Hamilton wound down.

Law School Transparency Hot Topic at NAPLA This year’s law-school scandals involving fudged admission and employment data made law school transparency a hot topic at the annual Northeast Association of Pre-Law Advisors conference.  Several sessions focused on admission and employment criteria standards or lack there of. “Buyer beware!”  Timely advice to you, if law school is in your future.  

Stuart (Stu) Lombardi ’09 offers the following advice to his fellow Hamiltonians after enduring the arduous process of applying to and being accepted at a number of top-tier law schools.  Stu is currently in his third year at Columbia University Law School.

Letters of recommendation aren’t a golden ticket to your dream job, but they can set you apart from other candidates with equivalent experience and skills. Letters of recommendation “round out” your personality by providing information about your work style, motivation, and special qualities that only you can bring to the table.
