Prints by Amy Buchholz ’80 and Professors of Art Bruce Muirhead and William Salzillo are on display in the Society of American Graphic Artists (SAGA) centennial exhibition at The Art Students League of New York.

“Gone to Ground,” a solo exhibition of six multi-paneled watercolor works by Katharine Kuharic, the Kevin W. Kennedy Professor of Art, will be on display in South Korea during a festival that opens Friday, Oct. 23.

Hamilton senior art majors concentrating in a variety of mediums visited five New York City-based artists as part of the annual New York City Studio Tour on Oct. 8-10. The tour was led by art faculty Robert Knight, Jane Fine and Ben Peterson.

Sculptures by Associate Professor of Art Rebecca Murtaugh are featured in a group exhibition at Stout Projects in Brooklyn. “Occo Socko!” opens Friday, Oct. 16, with a reception from 6-8 p.m. at the gallery.

Visiting Assistant Professor of Art History Liam Considine recently took his “What is Contemporary Art” Class to The Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art (MASS MoCA) in North Adams, Mass.

Two exhibitions saturated with historical and cultural references, Karen Hampton: The Journey North and Tales of the Conjure Woman: Lady Fatima as Transmitted through Renée Stout, will open at Hamilton’s Wellin Museum of Art on Saturday, Oct. 3, with a reception from 4 to 6 p.m. The reception and exhibitions are free and open to the public and will be on view through Dec. 20.

“A Masque of Mercy,” a project space exhibition featuring the work of Katharine Kuharic, the Kevin W. Kennedy Professor of Art, opens Oct. 1 at the Philip Slein Gallery in downtown St. Louis.

Visiting Professor of Art Jane Fine and Assistant Professor of Art Rob Knight took 20 senior art concentrators and advanced painting students to Golden Artist Colors and the Golden Foundation for the Arts in New Berlin, NY, on Sept. 16.  They toured the factory floor with Barbara and Emma Golden, and learned about the history of the company and how the paints are made.  The group also visited their studio residency program and met the four current artists working there.

The work of Associate Professor of Art Rebecca Murtaugh will be on display this fall in exhibitions in New York, California and Washington, D.C.

“Amish Farmhouse” by Professor of Art Bruce Muirhead received first prize in printmaking at the national American Landscapes exhibition sponsored by the Maryland Federation of Art (MFA). The show is on display through Sept. 13 at the MFA’s Circle Gallery in Annapolis, Md.
