  • Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology Mark A. Oakes has published an article, "Implicit and Explicit Self-esteem: Measure for Measure," in the latest volume of Social Cognition (Vol. 26, 2008). In the article, Oakes and his two co-authors (Jonathon Brown from the University of Washington and Huajian Cai from Sun Yat-Sen University in China) presented findings from their analysis of implicit and explicit measurements of self esteem.

The conference took place in Cape Town, South Africa, in December.   • The Corporation for National and Community Service named Hamilton as one of the colleges included on the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for exemplary service efforts and service to America's communities. Launched in 2006, the Community Service Honor Roll is the highest federal recognition a school can achieve for its commitment to service-learning and civic engagement.
