The following timeline details the process for applying to become a peer mentor.

New Peer Mentor Candidates

This process is for all candidates who have not previously served as a Peer Mentor at Hamilton. All new applicants must attend one 45-60 minute Zoom group interview session and may also be asked to attend one 30 minute Zoom individual interview. The dates are provided below. Applicants will be assigned to a time slot for the group interview and subsequently will be contacted about an individual interview if needed. More information will be distributed by email.

  • Thursday, January 20, 2002: Online application made available and a Peer Mentor Recruitment message sent out via email.
  • Zoom Information Session: Monday, February 7, 2022, 4-5 p.m., please RSVP to aharriso@hamilton.edu. (Session will be recorded and made available to anyone who cannot attend).
  • Monday, February 14, 2022: All applications are due by 4 p.m.
  • Group interviews will take place between Thursday, February 17– Thursday, February 24, 2022. Candidates will be assigned an interview time.  All candidates must attend at their assigned time.
  • Monday, February 28 – Friday, March 11, 2022: New applicants who are contacted by the Assistant Dean will need to schedule and attend an individual interview. The interviewer will be the Assistant Dean or a head peer mentor.  Sessions will last approximately 30 minutes.
  • Monday, March 21 – Friday, March 25, 2022: Decision notifications will be sent by email to all candidates.

Returning Peer Mentor Candidates

This process is for all Peer Mentors who have served as a Peer Mentor in the past and wish to return. Please complete a returning Peer Mentor application.

  • Thursday, January 20, 2022: Peer Mentor Recruitment message sent out via email.
  • Monday, February 14, 2022: All applications are due by 4 p.m.
  • Monday, March 21– Friday, March 25, 2022: Decision notifications will be sent by email to all candidates.

Students Studying off campus

For New Peer Mentor applicants, since all interviews will take place on Zoom, you will be included in scheduled group interviews.  If there is a time zone conflict, another interview will be scheduled.

For Returning Peer Mentor applicants who have served as a Peer Mentor in the past and wish to return, all above dates apply.
