2020-2021 PEER MENTOR SELECTION


The following timeline details the process for applying to become a peer mentor.

New Peer Mentor Candidates

This process is for all candidates who have not previously served as a Peer Mentor at Hamilton, and who will be on-campus for the spring semester.  All new applicants must attend one 45-60 minute group interview session and may also be asked to attend one 30 minute individual interview.  The dates are provided below. Applicants will be assigned to a time slot for the group interview and subsequently will be contacted about an individual interview if needed. More information will be distributed by email.

  • Thursday, January 23, 2020: Online application made available and a Peer Mentor Recruitment message sent out via email.
  • Information Sessions:  Monday, February 3, 2020, 12 - 1 p.m. in KJ 104 and Tuesday, February 4, 2020, 4-5 p.m. in the Days Massolo Center.
  • Monday, February 10, 2020: All applications are due by 4 p.m.
  • Group interviews will take place between Thursday, February 13 - Thursday, February 20, 2020.  Candidates will be assigned an interview time.  All candidates must attend at their assigned time.
  • Monday, February 24 - Friday, March 6, 2020: New applicants who are contacted by the Assistant Dean will need to schedule and attend an individual interview.  The interviewer will be the Assistant Dean or a head peer mentor.  Sessions will last approximately 30 minutes.
  • Monday, March 16 - Friday, March 20, 2020: Decision notifications will be sent by email to all candidates.

Returning Peer Mentor Candidates

This process is for all Peer Mentors who have served as a Peer Mentor in the past and wish to return. Please complete a returning Peer Mentor application.

  • Thursday, January 23, 2020: Peer Mentor Recruitment message sent out via email.
  • Monday, February 10, 2020: All applications are due by 4 p.m.
  • Monday, March 16 - Friday, March 20, 2020: Decision notifications will be sent by email to all candidates.

Students Studying off campus

For New Peer Mentor applicants who will not be able to take part in the regular selection process because they will be off-campus during the spring semester.  

Group interviews for new applicants will be conducted by appointment via phone or Skype.  Should an individual interview be necessary, candidates will be sent questions and will be asked to send answers back by email.  All dates above apply.

For Returning Peer Mentor applicants, who have served as a Peer Mentor in the past and wish to return, all above dates apply.
