Jazz guitarist and Hamilton graduate Paul Kogut '88 will lead a burning trio in the Little Pub on Thursday, Oct.  23 at 9 p.m. Hamilton music adjuncts Rick Montalbano (keyboards) and Jim Johns(drums) round out the group. Music from their new CD will be featured.

Photographer William E. Williams, a 1973 graduate of Hamilton College and a 2003 recipient of a Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship, will present a slide lecture on his project "Gettysburg, A Journey in Time" and selections from his work-in-progress on the Underground Railroad, on Monday, Oct. 20, at 4:15 p.m in the Red Pit. Sponsored by the Department of Art and Art History, and the Emerson Gallery.

Robert S. Morris, a 1976 Hamilton College graduate, has been named recipient of the College's Volunteer of the Year Award. The award was announced during Hamilton's annual Fallcoming weekend, on Oct. 17.  

John Freyer '95, is co-star of "Second Hand Stories," a 30-minute reality show about two men riding around the country looking for rare and unique items at garage sales, thrift stores and other places. It was broadcast on WCNY-TV (Channel 24) on Tuesday, Oct. 14, as part of a nationwide test by PBS. If the program is well-received by viewers, PBS will consider seeking corporate funding to make "Second Hand Stories" a regular series. Freyer is the author of All My Life for Sale (Bloomsbury USA), which describes his experience selling almost everything he owned on the eBay Internet auction service, then visiting people who bought the items.

Leigh Keno, a 1979 graduate of Hamilton, and his brother, Leslie, will host a new weekly series on PBS, "Find!" The Keno brothers are also appraisers on the popular "Antiques Roadshow." "Find!" will send the Keno brothers into homes to uncover hidden treasures. Leigh Keno owns Leigh Keno American Antiques, a gallery in Manhattan dealing in fine 18th- and early 19th-century American furniture and decorative arts. He majored in art history at Hamilton.

On Saturday, Nov. 1, the Hamilton Continentals football team will do battle on the gridiron with the Middlebury Panthers in Middlebury, Vt., to bring home the coveted "Rocking Chair."  All alumni and friends are invited to attend a pre-game brunch and post-game reception sponsored by the College.  Speaking before the game will be President Joan Stewart, football coach Pete Alvanos, Mac Bristol '43, Greg Hoogkamp '82 and Will Anthony '85.  More than 100 alumni and friends have already pledged their support for the team and will cheer the Continentals to victory.  Come out for a great fall day, and meet up with old friends! 

Hamilton's annual Fallcoming weekend will be highlighted this year by Inauguration festivities honoring President Joan Stewart. Trustees and Alumni Council members gather on Thursday evening, and the weekend begins in earnest on Friday with Alumni Association and pre-inaugural programming. The inauguration of Hamilton’s nineteenth president, Joan Stewart, will take place on Saturday, Oct. 18, at 10:30 a.m. in the Margaret Bundy Scott Field House. The weekend also features Continental sports, academic presentations, a multicultural career panel, celebratory gatherings and jazz in the evenings. Join us for this festive and historic occasion. Alumni interested in arriving early may attend a Sacerdote Great Names at Hamilton performance by noted comedian Bill Cosby on Wednesday, Oct. 15.  A complete schedule of events follows:  

A panel discussion, “Building Communities Across the Digital Divide,”  is the next event in the Kirkland Project at Hamilton College series, “Technology, Science and Democracy:  What’s at Stake?” It will take place on Thursday, Sept. 25, at 7 p.m. in the Kirner-Johnson Auditorium.  A panel of four guest speakers will address the topic. This program, which is free and open to the public, is co-sponsored by the Computer Science department.

Andrew Savage '85 is part of the cast this fall on the CBS reality show Survivor. He was "marooned" for 39 days on Mogo Mogo, one of the Pearle Islands (Perlas Archipelago) off the coast of Panama. The show will premiere Thursday, Sept. 18, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT).

Edward S. "Ned" Walker Jr. '62, former ambassador to Israel and Sol M. Linowitz Visiting Professor of International Affairs gave a talk on "The Middle East After Iraq" on September 16 at Hamilton.  Walker’s talk coincided with the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Camp David Accords (Sept. 17, 1978).
