Lisa Forrest, director of research and instructional design, presented “Partners in Teaching and Learning: Peer Research Tutors at the Desk, in the Classroom, and Across Campus” on March 4 at the Western New York Library Resources Council (WNYLRC) conference.

Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty Patrick Reynolds was recognized for his service to the American Microscopical Society (AMS) at the society’s annual meeting in Portland, Ore. He was awarded honorary life membership for his 17 years of service to the executive committee.

Erin Glaser, head women’s volleyball coach and associate professor of physical education, was a co-presenter on Dec. 17 at the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) National Convention in Omaha, Neb.

Greenhouse and Invertebrate Care Technician Hillary Joy Pitoniak was appointed president of the Northeast Herbal Association (NEHA) last month. She is a certified herbalist who has studied medicinal herbs for 13 years.

Phyllis Breland ’80, director of Opportunity Programs and interim director of Diversity and Inclusion at Hamilton College, was featured in “Avoiding Burnout: How 10 CDOs Balance Work with Life” in Insight Into Diversity magazine. Breland is an Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity (HEOP) graduate of Hamilton.

Angel Mason, associate director of athletics and associate professor of physical education, was selected to represent Division III at the NCAA Leadership Institute held July 11-17 in Pittsburgh. The program gives participants the opportunity to enhance and master skill sets, as well as explore and plan career goals and paths.

Kimberly Williams, associate director of the Days-Massolo Center, was selected to participate in the Callaloo Creative Writing Workshop held July 12-18 at Oxford University. The competitive program was presented by Callaloo, a quarterly not-for-profit journal of African Diaspora arts and letters.

Director of Research and Instruction Services Lisa Forrest recently published an article in College & Research Libraries News (C&RL News). “Going Analog and Getting Artsy: Programming in the Academic Library” highlighted novel ways that Hamilton’s librarians are supporting the college’s educational goals through programming.
