The Hamilton College Arboretum Third Saturday series continues on Saturday, April 18, with research historian and garden history consultant Christie Higginbottom. She will give a lecture titled “Fashion in Flowers: Ornamental Gardens in the Early Nineteenth Century” at 10 a.m. in the Taylor Science Center’s Kennedy Auditorium.

The Hamilton College Arboretum Third Saturday series continues on Saturday, Feb. 21, with Fred Breglia, executive director of Landis Arboretum, Duanesburg, N.Y. He will present “Plant Health Care! Pruning, Planting and Mulching!” at 10 a.m. in the Taylor Science Center’s Kennedy Auditorium. This discussion of the most current and effective methods of pruning, planting and mulching your yard and garden is free and open to the public.

The Hamilton College Arboretum will continue its popular Third Saturday series next semester beginning with a program on January 17.  All events begin promptly at 10 a.m. and end at noon. Events are held in the Taylor Science Center Kennedy Auditorium unless otherwise noted. Parking is available near the building. All events are free and open to the public and everyone interested in gardens and landscapes is encouraged to attend. Pre-registration is not required.

The Hamilton College Arboretum Association will present “Lilacs – A Purple Haze” with Harvard University’s Jack Alexander as guest speaker on Saturday, Oct. 18, at 10 a.m., in the Taylor Science Center’s Kennedy Auditorium on the Hamilton campus. The event is free, open to the public and sponsored by the College and its Arboretum Association.

The Hamilton College Arboretum will host the A.P. Saunders Peony Festival on Saturday, May 31, from 10 a.m. to noon, in Grant Garden. The festival celebrates the world-class, hybridized tree and herbaceous peonies of the Grant Garden in Hamilton College’s Root Glen. The event is free and the public is invited to attend.

Landscape architect Katchen Cardamone will deliver a lecture on Saturday, April 19, at 10 a.m., in the Kennedy Auditorium of the Taylor Science Center.  The event is part of the Hamilton College Arboretum’s “Third Saturday Speaker Series,” and is free and open to the public.

The Hamilton College Arboretum Association will present a workshop on advanced pruning on Saturday, March 1, at 10 a.m., in the Taylor Science Center’s Kennedy Auditorium. This event is free, open to the public and sponsored by the College and its Arboretum Association. Pre-registration is not required.

The Hamilton College Arboretum Association will present free workshops in January through May on the Hamilton campus. These events are free, open to the public and sponsored by the College and its Arboretum Association. Everyone interested in gardens and landscapes is encouraged to attend. This event is free, open to the public and sponsored by the College and its Arboretum Association.

The Hamilton College Arboretum will host an English Tea on the Elihu Root House porch and in Grant Garden on Saturday, July 13, from 9 to 11 a.m. The event will feature refreshments and music and is free and open to the public.
