Mal Condon, founder of Hydrangea Farm Nursery, will present a lecture titled “Success with Hydrangeas” on Saturday, Nov. 14, at 10 a.m., in the Kennedy Auditorium, Taylor Science Center. The lecture is part of Hamilton’s Arboretum Series and is free and open to the public. It will be followed by a question and answer session.

Frank Lentricchia, an American novelist, literary critic and professor of literature and film studies at Duke University, will read from his works on Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 8 p.m., in Dwight Lounge, Bristol Center. The lecture is sponsored by the English and Creative Writing Department and is free and open to the public.

Thistle Farms/Magdalene founder Becca Stevens will present a lecture titled “Living Out Our Ideals in the Practical World” on Wednesday, April 8, at 7 p.m., in the Chapel. Stevens’ lecture is sponsored by the STOP TRAFFIK organization and is free and open to the public.

Mark and Kristin Kimball, owners and operators of Essex Farm in the Adirondacks, will present a lecture titled “Food Ethics: A Farmer’s Perspective” on Tuesday, March 10, at 7:30 p.m., in the Taylor Science Center’s Kennedy Auditorium. The Kimballs’ lecture is free and open to the public.

Multimedia artist Curt Confer ’02 will present a lecture titled “Time Warp: Getting Lost in NYC’s Experimental Art Scene” on Friday, March 6, at 4:15 p.m., in the Kennedy Center’s Barrett Lab Theatre. Confer’s lecture is sponsored by the Theatre Department and is free and open to the public.

Photographer Bill Jacobson will present a lecture about his work on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 4:15 p.m., in the Bradford Auditorium as part of Hamilton’s Visiting Artist Series. This lecture is sponsored by the Art Department and is free and open to the public.

Artist Alyson Shotz, drummer and music educator Nasheet Waits, and animator Todd Akita will present a lecture on Tuesday, Feb. 10, at 4:15 p.m., in the Wellin Museum Overlook. They will discuss the process of creating “The Bedroom: Time Lapse,” an animated film featured in the Wellin’s current exhibition “Alyson Shotz: Force of Nature.”

Benjamin Haller, the Batten Associate Professor of Classics at Virginia Wesleyan College, will present a lecture on Thursday, Feb. 5, at 4:10 p.m., in the Kennedy Auditorium. Haller’s talk will deal with reflections of the figure of Iphigeneia, the poet Simonides, and classical models of architecture as mind in Chris Nolan’s film Inception (2010). The lecture is sponsored by the Classics department and is free and open to the public.
