The Society of Italian Historical Studies has awarded Assistant Professor of History Mackenzie Cooley the 2019 Cappadocia Prize for Best Unpublished Manuscript. She received this award for her doctoral dissertation, "Animal Empires: The Perfection of Nature between Europe and the Americas, 1492-1630," completed at Stanford University in 2018.

A new economic impact study commissioned by the Albany-based Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities (CICU) for its members found that Hamilton College’s estimated economic impact in the Mohawk Valley for 2016-17 totaled $322 million, nearly half of the total $683 million that all private non-profit colleges in the Mohawk Valley contributed.
