In “Ted Cruz: Confused About Cicero,” Weiner wrote about Texas Senator Ted Cruz’s rewriting of Cicero’s “In Catilinam (Against Catiline)” to denounce President Barack Obama’s planned executive actions on immigration reform.

Visiting Assistant Professor of French Aurélie Van de Wiele published an article in the current issue of the journal Nineteenth-Century French Studies and presented a paper at New York University during the biennial meeting of the Société des Professeurs Français et Francophones d’Amérique.

For the third year, Hamilton students taught Spanish to children in grades K-5 at Clinton Elementary School. The students taught multiple groups of approximately 25 Clinton children during lunch and recess this semester. Teaching Fellow in Hispanic Studies María Gabriela Portal, Elisa MacColl ’16, and Emily Hess ’16 coordinated the project.

Cara E. Jones, visiting assistant professor of women’s studies, recently presented papers titled “Compulsory (Re)productivity and Crip Existence” and “Disability and the Contingent Body” at the 2014 National Women’s Studies Association (NWSA) Conference held Nov. 13-16 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Following a 5th place finish at the Colgate Classic in the beginning of November, the Hamilton College Mock Trial Team finished 7-0-1 at the University of Rochester’s Yellowjacket Invitational, taking home a first place trophy for the first time this season.
