After he graduated from Hamilton as a dual major in classical languages and religious studies, Dylan Thayer ’13 discovered his interest in the law and decided to earn a degree at Vanderbilt Law School. One key to his success there? All that writing he did back at Hamilton.

Daniela Lapidous, the coalition organizer for NY Renews, presented Nov. 27 on the fight against climate change in New York, and how Hamilton College students can join the clean energy movement. NY Renews is a coalition of more than 140 grassroots, state and national organizations fighting to transition New York to 100% renewable energy by 2050 while promoting clean energy jobs and worker protections during the transition to clean energy, as well as supporting low-income communities that are disproportionately affected by climate change.

For most students, Thanksgiving Break is a week for family; for others, including international students who are not able to return home, it is a time for new cultural experiences and friends. Although the campus was quiet and cold, this Thanksgiving (or “Friendsgiving”) at Hamilton was made warmer with community-building activities and shared holiday spirit.
