Frequently Asked Questions

I’m a QuestBridge Match Finalist and plan to rank Hamilton. How do I submit my supplemental materials to complete my application?

Once Hamilton has received your application from QuestBridge, you will receive an application acknowledgement from Hamilton with instructions on accessing your application portal. Once you log in, you’ll be able to complete the Hamilton QuestBridge Supplement and Hamilton Financial Aid Application E-Form. Your school counselor should also mail, fax or email your first quarter grades to the Office of Admission.

A complete list of required application materials for the National College Match process can be found on our partner page of the QuestBridge website.

I’m a QuestBridge Match Finalist, but was not matched with Hamilton or any other partner college. How do I apply?

You can apply to Hamilton through Early Decision II or Regular Decision. The deadline for applying Early Decision II and Regular Decision is January 1.

If you ranked Hamilton, your application was automatically moved to Regular Decision.

If you are interested in applying Early Decision II, you should submit the Early Decision Agreement form (signed by student, counselor, and parent/guardian) by the application deadline. The form can be found on the Common Application website, or contact the Office of Admission for a PDF copy. Early Decision is a binding commitment and is designed for students who have decided that Hamilton is their first choice. More information about the Early Decision process can be found on our website.

I’m a QuestBridge Non-Finalist. How do I apply?

Students who are Non-Finalists can apply to Hamilton through Early Decision I or II or Regular Decision. All QuestBridge Non-Finalists can use the Common Application, Coalition Application, or QuestBridge Application to apply to Hamilton. If you submit more than one, Hamilton will only review the last application submitted by the deadline. More information about applying as a Non-Finalist is available on the QuestBridge website.

If I use the QuestBridge Regular Decision process, are there other application materials I should submit?

Yes, students who request to have their QuestBridge application forwarded to Hamilton will receive an email from Hamilton with log-in information for their Hamilton applicant portal after December 15. You should complete the Hamilton QuestBridge Supplement, Hamilton Financial Aid Application E-Form, and send an official updated transcript with your most recent grades. There is no need to re-send your school counselor or teacher recommendations if they were already a part of your QuestBridge application. You should also submit your mid-year grades when they become available. All supplemental application materials will need to be submitted by the January 1 deadline.

Should I use the QuestBridge Application, Common Application, or Coalition Application?

Hamilton would prefer that you submit the Common Application or Coalition Application, but the QuestBridge Application is also accepted. You should not, however, submit multiple applications and must choose either the Common Application, or Coalition Application. If you submit more than one, Hamilton will only review the last application submitted by the deadline.

Students who request to have their QuestBridge application forwarded to Hamilton will receive an email from Hamilton with log-in information for their Hamilton applicant portal after December 15. You should complete the Hamilton QuestBridge Supplement and Hamilton Financial Aid Application E-Form. All supplemental application materials will need to be submitted by the January 1 deadline.

If I am matched with Hamilton, what would the financial aid package look like?

Students who are matched with Hamilton will receive a financial aid package with no parental contribution and no loans. You can find a detailed breakdown of the financial aid package on the QuestBridge website.

Outside of the National College Match process, what would a Hamilton financial aid package contain?

Hamilton has a well-earned reputation as a “school of opportunity” and is need-blind in its admission decisions. All of Hamilton’s financial aid is based on demonstrated financial need, which is determined by calculating the difference between the expected family contribution and the cost of attendance. If you are admitted to Hamilton, we will meet your full demonstrated financial need for all four years. Typical first-year financial aid awards consist of Hamilton scholarships, student employment and federal, subsidized student loans not to exceed $3,500.

We also encourage you complete our Net Price Calculator to better understand your financial need. The net price calculator provides an estimate of your expected family contribution (EFC) and need-based financial aid eligibility.
