Course Description: A half-credit seminar to be taken in conjunction with GEOSC 511 (Senior Project). In this course students will continue to examine, discuss, and reflect upon structural and institutional hierarchies in the geosciences based on the social categories of race, class, gender, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sexuality, age, and/or disabilities. Students will also discuss ethical issues related to work and behavior as geoscience professionals. This seminar, taken along with its companion fall semester seminar (GEOSC 551) will satisfy the department’s SSIH requirement.
