Wellin Museum of Art Hosts Reception and Book Signing in Chelsea with Exhibiting Artists Jeffrey Gibson and Julia Jacquette

Tracy Adler, Johnson-Pote Director of the Ruth and Elmer Wellin Museum of Art, invites you to attend a reception and book signing in Chelsea. Artist Julia Jacquette will be signing the graphic memoir Playground of My Mind and the catalogue from her recent exhibition at the Wellin. Both books were co-published by the Wellin Museum of Art and DelMonico Books/Prestel, a division of Random House. 

The evening will feature a dialogue between Adler and artist Jeffrey Gibson about the upcoming exhibition Jeffrey Gibson: This Is the Day, opening at the Wellin Museum in Fall 2018. Highlighting Gibson's recent work from 2014 through 2018, this exhibition features sculpture, painting, installation, and video, and offers fresh insights into Gibson's artistic approach, which brings together popular culture and his Native American heritage. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be served. ($40 pp)
