  • New England law firm Pierce Atwood LLP has brought on Suzanne King ’85 as a partner in its employment law practice group. King joins the firm from Schwartz Hannum PC, and prior to that had spent 15 years working for Wheelabrator Technologies as in-house counsel. King also has a background in Title IX compliance and student complaint procedures at various colleges and universities.

  • Mason Ashe ’85 was honored at the National Bar Association’s 90th Annual Conference in Los Angeles this July where he received the Sports Lawyer of the Year Award. The National Bar Association is the oldest and largest association of predominantly African-American lawyers, judges, educators, and law students.

  • Students in the NYC program were given a tour of the Highline, a park/walkway built from the remains of an elevated New York Central Railroad line on April 15. The group’s guide was Hamilton alumnus John Allen ’60 who lives in the Chelsea area with his wife. He had many stories to tell about the neighborhoods surrounding the Highline and the donors who helped make this urban green space possible.

  • Colby College announced on Sept. 10 that David Greene, a 1985 graduate of Hamilton College and executive vice president at the University of Chicago, will be the liberal arts school’s next president.  Greene will take office on July 1, 2014.

  • Bruce Miller '85, executive vice president of Bank of New York Mellon, was recently recognized at the company's inaugural Fugio Awards.  The Fugio Awards honor individuals for extraordinary demonstration of the company's values and brand behaviors.  Miller was one of three individuals selected by the company's Executive Committee.

  • Stephen Durfee '85, a pastry chef instructor at The Culinary Institute of America, will represent the United States in January 2013 as one of three team members at Coupe Du Monde de la Patisserie (World Pastry Cup) in Lyon, France.  Durfee will be the chocolatier on the team and work with a sugar artist and an ice carver to compete against 20 teams from Europe and Asia.
