Eleven members of Hamilton’s Class of 2017 will be joining Teach for America. Teach For America is a selective non-profit that gives the nation’s top leaders an opportunity to impact social inequity from the head of a classroom. As teachers, its corps members work in partnership with communities to expand educational opportunity for children facing the challenges of poverty.

Andre Burnham ‘18 and Michael Valeri ‘19 have been awarded Coccia Foundation Scholarships for study abroad in Italy. The Foundation was established in 1994 by Cavaliere Joseph Coccia, Jr., and his wife Elda. The organization is dedicated to the preservation and celebration of Italian culture, with a particular emphasis on promoting the rich Italian cultural heritage among younger generations at the college level.

Professor of Comparative Literature Nancy Sorkin Rabinowitz recently participated in a panel on “Ethical Engagement and the Study of Antiquity” and a follow-up workshop at the University of Southern California.
