Counseling Center

Welcome! As we all navigate uncertain times, the Counseling Center is here to help. We are proud to offer multiple pathways to a personal level of care that can meet immediate and long-term needs.

We believe in providing treatment grounded in trust, respect, and connection. We provide a comprehensive array of services to help you meet your needs while providing our staff with a nourishing and rewarding place to work. We also work closely with our colleagues in the Health Center on the first floor. All of our providers are knowledgeable, caring, and have great respect for individual difference.  To access any of the services we offer, please call our Office Manager Mary Hoying at 315-859-4340, email us at counseling@hamilton.edu, or visit our virtual lobby during regular business hours! And don't forget to download the Calm App

Note: the current availability of first appointments described below is within 1-2 business days (this is updated weekly).

Looking to engage in therapy?

When it comes to engaging in therapy, you have options! Here are some choices:

  • See someone in the Counseling Center, which can be access by emailing us at counseling@hamilton.edu, calling 315-859-4340, or through our virtual Zoom lobby (NOTE: Due to the prevalence of the Delta variant in our area, we are offering all services via Zoom. We will continually reevaluate local prevalence rates to determine when we can safely offer in-person services.).
  • Access a therapist through our partner BetterMynd, which offers a variety of therapists and therapeutic approaches. If you are having trouble using your insurance but would like to see a therapist with a specialty or demographic background we don't provide, please contact us and we can help you find care.
  • See a provider in the local community! If you need help navigating insurance or finding a therapist, see this guide for help.
Need Help Right Now?

If you need help right now, check out our regular Resources page, our COVID-19 Resources page, or download the Calm App. If you're in distress, please reach out to an on-call counselor by calling 315-859-4340 and choosing option 2.
