Our Mission

The Thomas B. Rudd Health Center is dedicated to maintaining the health and well being of the students of Hamilton College. We promote a healthy lifestyle through education and preventative  medical care.   We provide diagnostic services and treatment of illness and medical conditions typical of a primary care office, in accordance with current standards of care.  The health center is committed to providing high quality, compassionate care to students.

Medical Emergencies

In the event of a medical emergency, please call campus safety at 315-859-4000 for Hamilton College Emergency Medical Services (HCEMS).

The health center is staffed with one full time physician's assistant.  Triage nurse services are available during clinic hours and students are encouraged to call the triage line with medical questions or concerns.  Same day appointments with the nurse or provider are available.   Students are seen by appointment with allowances made for emergencies. There is no fee for evaluation by the staff.  The health center maintains an in-house lab and a dispensary of common medications.  For additional testing or services, students are referred to local specialists and/or imaging/testing centers.

Health Center Records

Records created and maintained by this department are considered student treatment records and the student’s privacy of such information is governed by federal and state laws. Unless specifically authorized by law or required by court order, private medical or counseling information and student treatment records will not be shared or released without the consent of the student.
