Long-time Hamilton College philosophy professor and former head men's golf coach Bob Simon and his wife Joy received honorary Hamilton athletic department watches at the 2014 Jack B. Riffle Dinner for Senior Varsity Athletes. The awards were presented by Director of Athletics Jon Hind '80 to the Simons for their four decades of devotion to the College's intercollegiate programs.

When Ben Anderson ’14 first set foot on the Hamilton campus four years ago he had no idea what he wanted to do after college. It’s one of the reasons he chose Hamilton. Hamilton’s open curriculum encouraged Anderson to explore many disciplines, providing insight along the way. Anderson explains, “The open curriculum helped me zero in on what I was interested in.” As a result, Anderson discovered his passion for government, eventually deciding to study at Georgetown University Law Center next year.

Hamilton’s Class of 2014 Senior Gift campaign has set the record for the highest participation rate of any senior class, with 98.1 percent participation. Their $36,890, which includes a $10k match from President Joan Stewart, will go toward a planned terrace at the Siuda House Admission Office that commemorates the Class of 2014 as the first need-blind class.

Wellin Museum of Art Associate Director and Curator Susanna White presented on a panel about visible storage as classroom at the annual meeting of the Association of Academic Museums and Galleries in Seattle on May 17. Her paper was titled "A Museum Turned Inside Out: The Ruth and Elmer Wellin Museum of Art at Hamilton College."

On a typical Tuesday night this semester, many Hamilton students found themselves absorbed in their books or typing up papers on their computers, but for students taking Professor Brent Plate’s Religion and the Media course, much of the work happened at the microphone. As students in Plate’s course spent the spring investigating the influence of various media on religious practices, they also experimented with a new medium through which to communicate their research.
