  • “Today I choose to celebrate every woman at every stage of her journey, who is pushing boundaries regardless of the religious, medical, psychological, social, economic, financial and political challenges we face.” — Omobonike Odegbami

  • On March 8, Odegbami joined colleagues from the Association of International Educators (NAFSA) to attend the virtual congressional meetings as part of Advocacy Day.

  • On March 31, 2023, international students participated in a tax webinar through the International Student Services department and the Budget department’s partner Sprintax, to ask questions and get an overview of international students’ tax filing obligations.

  • The New York Six Liberal Arts Consortium International Student Advisors gathered at St. Lawrence University Campus in Canton, N.Y. to engage in meaningful dialogue aimed at improving the international student experience in New York.

  • During the last semester, it was brought to Omobonike Bonike's attention that international students had a lack of understanding about the benefits and intricacies of the MVP healthcare plan offered by the college. To address this concern, the First Friday of March was organized to facilitate a conversation between international students and the MVP representative at our college, Amber Denny.

  • On Friday evening, the Days Massolo Center (DMC) welcomed students to a much-awaited event - the International Student Services (ISS) Jollof Rice Cook Off! The event was a huge hit, with a packed house of eager students excited to sample the mouth-watering dishes and vote for their favorite.

  • What a fantastic day it was on February 21 when students were greeted with Chef Matthew’s menu! Thanks to the International Student Services (ISS) and Bon Appetit’s head chef’s recent discussion a few months ago, the idea of inviting visiting chefs on campus to share their culinary experiences with Hamilton’s community became a reality. The visiting chef’s menu received an overwhelming amount of positive attention from students who appreciated the celebration of Black History Month and the diverse options of food available.

  • What a fantastic event the Feminists of Color Collective (FCC), the International Cultural Association (ICA), and the Gender and Sexuality Union's (GSU) Love Dating put together on February 15 in the ALCC basement! For the first time, the three groups collaborated, and the turnout was incredible.

  • The Multicultural peer mentoring project (MP2) recently organized a heartwarming Valentine’s Day movie night for mentors and mentees. The event was a great success, drawing a large and diverse crowd of students who were excited to socialize and reconnect with their peers. To make the evening even more special, the organizers provided customized mugs, hot chocolate, and delicious chocolate-covered fruits for everyone to enjoy.
