The Dudley B. Kimball Memorial Book Fund

Established in 1987 by family and friends in memory of Dudley B. Kimball (1893-1986), Class of 1915.

Upon entering Hamilton, Dudley Kimball joined the Emerson Literary Society. Displaying an exceptional talent for writing, he won the Kellogg Essay Prize twice and the McKinney Prize for public speaking, and was engaged in all literary aspects on campus, along with the College Church. He served as Class President and President of the College YMCA, as well as a member of the Honor Court and Pentagon.

After Hamilton, Dudley attended Union Theological Seminary and pursued English literature and philosophy at Columbia. He was ordained a Presbyterian minister and served as a chaplain in World War I. He then entered the field of publishing becoming partner at Kimball-Clark Publishing Co. Active in politics, local government, and real estate, Dudley managed properties in Parsippany, NJ. Edwin W. Kimball ’50 and J. Dudley Kimball ’69 were among his survivors.
