The Kenneth Sprague Memorial Fund
July 1, 1958

This fund was established in 1958 in memory of Kenneth A. Sprague, Class of 1907, via an estate gift from his wife. It supports the purchase of books and bibliographical works for the College Library.
During his time on the Hill, Kenneth Sprague was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity and was recognized for his academic excellence through election to Phi Beta Kappa. After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree at graduation, he returned to his hometown of Roscoe, NY, to pursue various successful business ventures. He worked in his family’s store, which later became a department store, before becoming involved with the timber industry. He became the president of Kent Timber Company of North Carolina, and secretary and treasurer of the Haywood Lumber and Mining Company of North Carolina, and of the Telfair Lumber Company of Georgia. He was an active leader in his community, dedicating much of his time to various boards and groups. Furthermore, he was a leader in the First National Bank and Trust Company of Roscoe, NY, among many other organizations.
