The Mary Tate Memorial Fund
July 1, 1950

This fund was established in 1950 by Professor Merle Tate, in memory of his daughter, Mary Tate, who died in an automobile accident in August 1948. It supports the purchase of books in the field of music, particularly the collected works of well-known composers.
Following his time at Hamilton, Professor Tate went on to teach at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Education.
