The Walter F. Rogers Jr. Fund

This fund was established in memory of Walter F. Rogers, Jr., Class of 1940, by family and friends to support the purchase of books in the field of science.

Walter Rogers Jr. entered Hamilton with the class of 1940 and quickly found a passion for the sciences. Outside of his academics, he was a member of Psi Upsilon fraternity and Pentagon. After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree, he entered Syracuse College of Medicine in 1943. After an internship in Providence, R.I., Walter returned to Syracuse as an instructor in pathology. Soon after, he became a research fellow in medicine at Harvard University before returning to the Syracuse Medical School as an instructor in medicine. By 1950, he was promoted to an assistant professorship at the State of New York Medical Center at Syracuse. Having been published in many journals and a pioneer in the study of endocrine diseases, Walter Rogers Jr. was a well revered medical professional.
