Asu, Forrest, and Treyanurak Present on the Research Tutor Program

By Lisa Forrest

Glynis Asu, Lisa Forrest, and research tutor, Tanapat (Ice) Treyanurak  presented on the Peer Research Tutor program at SUNYLA's 2015 "The Art of Librarianship" conference in Purchase NY.  The presentation highlighted the importance that students can play in the development of information literacy skills among their peers.  Established in the fall of 2014, the program provides peer-to-peer information literacy support reaching far beyond the walls of the library. Serving as “first-tier” support at the desk, Research Tutors also develop and deliver information literacy workshops, create new bridges between their fellow peers and liaison librarians, and serve as information literacy ambassadors across campus.
