Course Description: A half-credit seminar to be taken in conjunction with GEOSC 510 (Senior Project). In this course students will examine, discuss, and reflect upon structural and institutional hierarchies in the geosciences based on the social categories of race, class, gender, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sexuality, age, and/or disabilities. Students will also discuss ethical issues related to work and behavior as geoscience professionals. This seminar, taken along with its companion spring semester seminar (GEOSC-552, will satisfy the department’s SSIH requirement.
Comments: Open to GEOSC/GEARCH Seniors only
