Three Burke Library staff members presented on May 19 at the Eastern New York Chapter of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) conference in Oswego, N.Y.

On a typical Tuesday night this semester, many Hamilton students found themselves absorbed in their books or typing up papers on their computers, but for students taking Professor Brent Plate’s Religion and the Media course, much of the work happened at the microphone. As students in Plate’s course spent the spring investigating the influence of various media on religious practices, they also experimented with a new medium through which to communicate their research.

Hamilton College women's swimmer Maggie Rosenbaum '14 (Alford, Mass./Monument Mountain Regional HS) and men's golfer Greg Scott '14 (New Haven, Vt./Mount Abraham Union HS) received the 2014 Jack B. Riffle Awards at the College's senior varsity athlete awards dinner on May 20.

House Divided, a feature film directed by Nicholas Geisler ’14, has been selected to appear at the Hoboken International Film Festival. The film, which makes its premiere at the festival, will be screened June 1 at the Paramount Theatre in Middletown, N.Y.

Ten current and former Hamilton Chemistry Department faculty members co-authored a chapter titled “A Departmental Focus on High Impact Undergraduate Research Experiences” in a recently published edition of the American Chemical Society Symposium Series dedicated to “Developing and Sustaining a Successful Undergraduate Research Program.”

The winners of the Beverly S. and Eugene M. Tobin Employee Awards were announced and employees celebrating milestone service anniversaries were honored at Hamilton’s 30th annual employee service recognition luncheon on May 19 at Soper Commons.

Professor of Philosophy Marianne Janack  was an invited speaker at a symposium on Philosophy as a Transitional Genre hosted by the Stony Brook University Philosophy Department from May 1-3.

De Bao Xu, the Leonard C. Ferguson Professor and chair of East Asian Languages and Literatures, received a special grant from the Hakka Foundation for his endeavors with the Journal of Technology and Chinese Language Teaching (JTCLT) and the International Conference and Workshops on Technology and Chinese Language Teaching in the 21st Century (TCLT).

Adrian Walsh ’16 of the Hamilton College women’s track & field team has qualified for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships, which will be held at Ohio Wesleyan University's Selby Stadium/George Gauthier Track Thursday through Saturday in Delaware, Ohio.

Hamilton Women's Ultimate Frisbee went undefeated in our region two weekends ago, playing six teams in two days and capturing the only invitation from the Metro East region to the USA Ultimate D-III College Championships in Westerville, Ohio, May 17- 18.
