Established in 1903 by Mrs. Selden H. Talcott in memory of her husband, this fund is used for the purchase of books for the Psychological Alcove for the Library. Selden H. Talcott was a member of the Class of 1896.

This fund was established as a Class of 1890 memorial to benefit the library through supporting the purchase of books in the department of political science. George H. Minor and Joseph D. Ibbotson were their class’ lead donors.

David Maldwyn Ellis, Class of 1938, established this fund in 1972. He sought to preserve “the Library’s reputation of being one of the best small college libraries in the country.” Book purchases supported by this fund are intended to be in the areas of history, with an emphasis on American history.
