Michell Arlotta ’01 graduated with a major in geology and a minor in art history. Upon completion of both her master’s degree in marine environmental science and her advanced graduate certificate in waste management, she pursued a career in photography. She has been a professional photographer based out of New Jersey for 19 years. Her storytelling approach to capturing people through events, travel, and portrait sessions has earned her many awards, publications, and top rankings in the industry. She attributes her successful and fulfilling career and non-traditional path to keeping an open mind and a focus on health and happiness.

In this Q&A, DÔEN president Holly Soroca ’97 details her career path after graduating from Hamilton and offers advice for students interested in pursuing a career in the fashion industry.

Jay Marsac ’92 majored in public policy and went on to work for several big-name companies in the entertainment industry such as NBC Universal. He now works as the director of advertising sales for A+E Networks.

Andrew Horton '66 is the The Jeanne H. Smith Professor of Film and Media Studies at The University of Oklahoma. Horton describes how he discovered his love for cinema studies at Hamilton during a period of time when the college did not offer film and media courses.

John Nye ’87 majored in art history and built a career in the second oldest profession in the world. About twenty years ago, he struck out on his own after a meteoric rise at Sotheby's and founded Nye and Company Auctioneers/Appraisers in northern New Jersey, where he is president and principal auctioneer. The regional auction house has an international clientele and a national audience resulting from his participation on Antiques Roadshow.

Edwin “Eddie” Brennan ’19 is a creative director and communications strategy consultant working in New York City. His expertise supports numerous companies and organizations across the Tech, Philanthropy, Manufacturing, and Consumer Goods industries, with a keen focus on strategic brand development and external communications. Brennan also serves as the CEO and Owner of Rural Guarantee LLC, on the Community Advisory Committee of the Masonic Medical Research Institute, and supports several local nonprofits in fundraising and strategy throughout Central New York. 

Sabrina Pike graduated from Hamilton in 2020 and concentrated in creative writing and archaeology. She is a young adult novelist and is currently working on a fantasy trilogy.

Jamie Donahoe ’85 (American studies) co-founded Adventures in Preservation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the world’s architectural heritage. In 2017, she began her personal journey to becoming a children’s author.

Julia Smith graduated in 2018 as a studio art major and a geology/government double minor. She currently works as a brand marketing associate at Disney Streaming for ESPN+ in New York City.
