How to Clear the Browser Cache

Some issues can be fixed by clearing the cache (stored temporary files) of your browser. Here's how to do so for various browsers:

Mozilla Firefox

  1. Click the menu button (the sandwich) and choose History.
  2. Select “Clear Recent History.”
  3. Make sure that Cookies and Cache options are checked.
  4. Remove the check mark in front of Active Logins.
  5. Click the Clear Now button.

Google Chrome

  1. At the top right, click the “Customize and Control” menu (three dots).
  2. Mouse over History and then click the top History option.
  3. On the left-hand side, click the “Clear browsing data” option.
  4. On the Advanced tab, select “All time” for the time range and make sure the top four items are checked.
  5. Click Clear data.

Microsoft Edge

  1. To view your browsing history, click the Settings (three dots in the upper right corner)
  2. Select History, then click the More Options (three dots).
  3. Select "Clear Browsing Data."
  4. Select "All time" from the dropdown list, make sure the first four items are checked, then click "Clear Now."


  1. Click on the Safari drop-down menu and select Preferences.
  2. Click the Advanced tab. Select the Show Develop menu in menu bar checkbox and close the Preferences window.
  3. Select the Develop drop-down menu. Click Empty Cache.
