This fund was established by Dr. Harold F. Harding with assistance from family and friends. It became a memorial fund following his death in 1987 and supports the purchase of books in the area of public speaking.

In 2002, Ellis E. Bradford, Class of 1945, established this book fund in honor of his classmate and friend, Stanley Hubbard, Class of 1945, and his wife Rita. This fund provides support for the purchase of books and other media which will enhance the overall collection at the Burke Library.

This book fund was established in 1999 in memory of Robert B. Paddock (1920-1999), Class of 1942, by his wife, Blair A. Paddock. The books purchased through this fund alternate yearly between the areas of political science and history.

This fund was established by H. Jay Sarles, son of Harvey J. Sarles, Class of 1930. It is meant to complement the Jacqueline Gage Sarles Book Fund established in 1978 by the elder Mr. Sarles in memory of his wife. This fund was established for the purchase of books in any field as well as the purchase of videos, CD-ROMs, computer equipment, or any other materials or equipment that will enhance the Library’s collection or access thereto.

Established in 1995 by Patricia P. and Richard W. Couper ’44, this fund’s original purpose was to allow the College Librarian to obtain rare and esoteric materials, the purchase of which would not be possible without the support of the fund. With the College’s agreement, in 2004 the Coupers decided to broaden the scope of this fund also include providing for enhancements to the Burke Library.
