Installing the Citrix Workspace App on your Personal Computer

The Citrix Workspace App is already installed on public lab computers around campus. The following installation instructions apply only to personal computers. You can read more about the Citrix system from here.

Below are instruction videos for Mac and Windows users, walking you through the steps for installing the Citrix Workspace App on your personal machine.

How to Install the Citrix Workspace App on a Windows PC

Steps for installation:

  1. If you use a Chromebook, simply add a Chrome extension for Citrix workspace from this link. For all the other operating systems (OS: Mac OS, Windows, Linux, etc.), go to Step 2.
  2. Visit https://www.citrix.com/downloads/workspace-app/.
  3. Scroll down and click the link under “Workspace app for ::Windows/Mac/Linux:: Current Release,” depending on your computer’s platform.
  4. Make sure that your OS is compatible with the latest app. If so, click “Download Citrix Workspace app.” If not, go back to Step 3 and click “Earlier Versions of Workspace app for ::Windows/Mac/Linux::” to find the appropriate app for your OS.
    • How to check your macOS/Windows version: 
      • Mac: Click the Apple icon on the Apple menu, and choose “About This Mac.”
      • Windows: Press the Windows key + R, type winver, and press Enter.
  5. Run the installer. Give admin permission if a pop-up comes up. 
  6. Once the installation is complete, click “Close.” Do not click “Add Account,” because you do not need to create an account for Citrix. 

  7. Proceed to Registering and Logging in to Citrix.
